Event Policy

Many projects on Support a Cause run alongside real-world activity — a tree-planting drive, a school event, a community clean-up, a fundraiser gathering. This policy sets out how events organised or promoted through the platform work, for both organisers and participants. It works together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Children's Data Policy.

Who runs an event

An event is run by the project organiser — the person or organisation behind the project it belongs to. Support a Cause provides the platform to promote the event and to collect contributions; unless we say otherwise in writing, we are not the host and are not responsible for on-ground conduct or arrangements. Organisers are responsible for the permissions, venue, insurance, and safety their event needs, and for following all applicable local laws.

Taking part

• Details shown for an event — date, place, what it involves — are provided by the organiser. Confirm with them before you travel.
• Follow the organiser's instructions and any venue rules while you are there.
• Take part at your own risk and within your own ability. Tell an organiser about any need or condition that affects your safety.

Children at events

Where anyone under 18 takes part:

• A parent or legal guardian must consent to their participation, and — for anything beyond a public gathering — should accompany or arrange supervision for them.
• Organisers must arrange age-appropriate supervision and safety for activities involving children.
• Photos or video of a child are published only with guardian consent, exactly as set out in our Children's Data Policy.

Photos, video, and media

Events are often photographed or filmed to show the impact of a project. If you attend, you may appear in that media, which the organiser and Support a Cause may use to report on and promote the cause. If you do not want to appear, tell the organiser on the day, and contact us at support@supportacause.co.in to have an image of you removed. A child's image is used only with guardian consent.

Conduct

Treat other participants, organisers, and the venue with respect. Harassment, discrimination, unsafe behaviour, or anything unlawful is not tolerated, and an organiser may ask anyone breaking these rules to leave.

Changes, cancellation, and contributions

An event may be changed, postponed, or cancelled — by the organiser or for reasons outside anyone's control (weather, permissions, safety). We will pass on organiser updates where we can, but cannot guarantee an event will run as listed. A contribution supports the cause, not attendance at an event — it is treated under our Refund & Cancellation policy, and an event change does not by itself create a right to a refund.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Support a Cause is not liable for loss, injury, or damage arising from an event organised by someone else, and the organiser is responsible for their own event. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
