Support a Cause

About Support a Cause

We ran tree-planting drives, school forests and club projects long before we wrote a line of this code. Support a Cause is the funding rail we needed for that work: our own platform, our own payment account, our own review desk.

What we do

Host funding pages for projects we have read and accepted — NGO work, school and student projects, community drives, relief efforts. Each one gets a public page, a share link, an itemised receipt for every contribution, and updates the funders can follow.

Why we built it

On a rented platform you inherit someone else's fee, someone else's rules about what counts as a cause, and no access to your own donor data. Building it ourselves means a 0% fee is a decision we get to make rather than ask for.

How it is run

Payments go through Razorpay to the organisation named on the receipt. Nothing is public until a person here has reviewed the submission. Rejections come with a written reason, and the project can be fixed and resubmitted.

Student and team fundraisers

Some projects are run by a whole group — a school class growing a forest, a club chapter working a district. Each participant gets their own page and their own share link, and every contribution that comes through it is credited to them by name. Where a participant is under 18, we only publish what a parent or guardian has consented to; the details are in our children's data policy.
