Adopt a Tree

Terms & Conditions

Last updated August 2026.

Support a Cause is a platform operated by CommuniTree. By using the platform, making a payment, or submitting a project, you agree to these terms.

1. Using the platform

The platform hosts funding pages for projects and lets people contribute to them. A project must be lawful, described accurately, and the money must be used only for the purpose stated on its page. If you submit a project, or fundraise as a participant on someone else's project, you are responsible for the information you provide about it.

2. Project review

Every submission is reviewed by a person before it becomes public, and nothing can receive money before that. We may decline a submission, and we may remove or close a live project — including after it has raised funds — if what we were told turns out to be wrong. A decline comes with a reason, and you may correct the project and resubmit it. Review is a sanity check, not an audit: we do not independently verify every claim a project makes, so contribute to work you have reason to trust.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. What you pay goes to the project, less Razorpay's processing charge, plus any optional tip toward running the platform that you choose to add at checkout. We charge no platform fee on funds raised — see our pricing page for the exact figures. Payments are received by CommuniTree, which issues the receipt and arranges the transfer to the project.

4. Receipts and tax exemption

Every successful payment gets a receipt showing the amount to the project, the processing fee, the date and a reference number. That receipt is a payment acknowledgement, not an 80G tax-exemption certificate, and Support a Cause does not issue 80G certificates. Where the organisation hosting a project holds its own 80G registration, any such certificate is issued by that organisation directly and on its own terms — ask on the project page before contributing if you need one.

5. Cancellations & refunds

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Liability

We facilitate payments and project discovery. We are not liable for how a project uses the funds it raises. You contribute at your own discretion, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of competent jurisdiction at our registered place of business.
